Overview
The Parallels RDP allows users to securely access PIMSY from outside their normal work environment. By connecting to your organization’s remote server, you can work within the same system setup as if you were on-site, ensuring full functionality and data security. This tool is ideal for staff needing access to the desktop on a MAC.
Required Permissions and Prerequisites
- Parallels Client: https://www.parallels.com/products/ras/download/client/
- If using Google Play, search for "Parallels Client" and click/tap Install
- If using the App Store (Apple), search for "Parallels Client" and click/tap Get
Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Download Parallels
To download Parallels, use the link above or search for it on either on Google Play or the App Store.
From the downloads folder (or where you saved the download) open the downloaded file to begin the Setup Wizard.
In Setup Wizard, click Next.
Check the I accept the terms in the License Agreement box to continue.
On the next page, based on your preferences, select either Disable or Enable.
Select a folder to save the Parallels Client to and then click Next after each prompt until the install button appears. Click Install to begin the installation.
Click Finish to once the installation has completed.
Step 2: Setting Up Parallels
Open the Parallels client once it has installed.
On the first screen click or tap Create Connection, then click Create RDP Connection instead.
Next, click Advanced Settings >
Fill in the connection information with the following:
Connection Settings
Primary Connection: rdp-central1.centralus.cloudapp.azure.com
Port: 3389
Next, enter the Login and Password information, which will be provided by PIMSY.
Check Save Password to have it autofill the next time you log in.
Click or Tap Save / OK.
Double-click your new connection to start. If a certificate warning appear, click Yes or Accept.
