See Details Below
Tip 1: Moving Items
When viewing assignment windows, you can simply double-click an item to move it from one side to another. Changes will automatically be saved.
Clicking Add All will add all items from the left panel to the right panel.
Clicking Remove All will remove all items from the right panel to the left panel.
Tip 2: Saving Your Work
The Save button is typically located in the upper-left or upper-right corner of the screen. It’s important to always click Save before navigating away if you’ve made any changes. Some windows have both a top and bottom section, each with its own Save button. Be sure to use them to save any changes made.
Tip 3: Filter
Check out our article on how to use the PIMSY filter
Tip 4: Column Chooser
By default, not all available columns are displayed in each section of PIMSY. If you need to view additional data, you can use the Column Chooser to add more columns to your view.
To use the Column Chooser:
- Right-click on the column header row of the table.
- Select Column Chooser from the popup menu.
- A small window will appear with additional column options.
- Click and drag the desired column from the Column Chooser onto the header row to add it to your view.
Tip 5: Exporting Data
The Export button can be found in many areas of the system.
There are two ways to Export data from PIMSY to an Excel spreadsheet. You can export to a new spreadsheet or into an existing Excel file.
Export to a new spreadsheet:
- Select Excel as your export format
- Check the box for Include Column Headers
- PIMSY will display a message indicating that the export may take a minute or more, depending on the amount of data
- Click Yes to proceed with the export
Export to an existing sheet:
The Browse button allows you to export data to an existing Excel file. This will create your own Excel templates.
- Use Browse to locate and select the Excel file on your computer
- Define the sheet where the data should be exported (e.g., Sheet1, My Data), and save the file
- In the Export Options box enter the name of the new sheet where the data will be placed
- Click Export, then confirm by clicking Yes.
PIMSY will add the new data to the designated sheet (e.g., Sheet2) while keeping existing data (like Sheet1) intact.
Once the export process begins, you can close the export dialog box and the system will continue to export while you work.
Tip 6: Button Ribbons
Many buttons in PIMSY maintain the same functionality no matter where they appear. A key example is the set of buttons located at the top of the client list in the Client Management area. They perform consistent actions throughout the system.
The the single arrows to move to the previous (right facing arrow) or next record (left facing arrow) in your list.
The double arrows move you to the first in the list (right facing) or last in the list (left facing).
The up and down arrows allow you to scroll from page to page.
The Export button, which we covered in the step before this one.
The Filter button. Check out our article on the Filter here.
The CPP (count per page) field allows you to adjust the number of records displayed. For example, while the default may show 40 clients, you may increase it to the highest number displayed on the far left if you want to see all your results on one page. PIMSY refers to this as "expanding your search". Be sure to click the Refresh button after making changes to apply the new display count.
Tip 7: Spellcheck
In PIMSY, you can access the spellcheck feature in any text fields where typing is allowed. Right-click inside the text field and select Spellcheck from the list of options. Templates can also be used by selecting the Templates options.
Tip 8: Links Menu
PIMSY provides several useful links in the area, and you can also add your own to the dropdown box.
To add your own links, go to:
Administration > Pick List Management
From Pick List Management screen, filter for "link". Select the Link category to view your links or create new ones. Be sure to Save and then Refresh Pick Lists to apply the changes.

Tip 9: Windows Menu
The Windows menu in PIMSY offers a quick way to navigate between open screens. All currently open windows are listed at the bottom of the menu. Simply select a window from the list to bring it to the front of your view and switch tasks seamlessly.
PIMSY offers several different views which can be utilized at any time and include:
- Cascade creates a series of open windows that are easily navigated from one to another
- Tile Vertical places windows in sets so you can view several windows at one time
-
Tile Horizontal arranges the open windows in a horizontal pattern so you can view all at one time
