Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Shortcut to Clearing Your Cache
To quickly access the menu to clear your cache, cookies, and browsing history:
Windows: Press Ctrl + Shift + Delete
Mac: Press Command + Shift + Delete
This shortcut opens a dialog box allowing you to choose what to clear.
If the shortcut doesn’t work, refer to the step-by-step instructions for your browser below. If the instructions don’t match what you see, you may need to update your browser to the latest version.
To check your browser version, go to the Help menu or browser menu and select About [browser name].
If you're still unsure, search your browser's Help section for "clear cache."
Step 2: Clearing Your Cache on Mobile Browsers
The steps to clear your cache, cookies, and history may differ depending on the model of your Android device and your preferred browser, but you should be able to clear your cache and data from your application management settings menu:
Go to Settings and choose Apps or Application Manager.
Swipe to the All tab.
In the list of installed apps, find and tap your web browser.
Tap Clear Data and then Clear Cache.
Exit/quit all browser windows and re-open the browser.
Chrome for Android
- Open the Chrome app
- Tap the three dots (⋮) in the upper-right corner
- Tap Delete Browsing Data from the menu
- Choose a Time Range (e.g., “All Time”)
- Tap Delete Data
Safari for iOS
- Open the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad
- Scroll down and tap Advanced
- Tab Website Data
- Scroll down and tap Remove Website Data
- Tap Remove Now
Chrome for iOS
- Open the Chrome app
- Tap the three dots (…) in the bottom-right corner
- Tap History
- Tap Delete Browsing Data…
- Choose the Time Range (e.g., “All Time”)
- Tap Browsing Data
- Check the Cookies, Site data, and Cached images and files options
- Tap Confirm
- Tap Delete Data
Step 3: Clearing Your Cache on Desktop Browsers

- Open Chrome

- Check Cached images and files
- Click Clear now

- In the pop-up under the Basic tab:
- Choose Time range (e.g., “All Time”)
- Check Cached images and files
- Click Clear data
Safari (Mac only)
- Open Safari
- Click Safari in the top menu and then click Settings
- Click Advanced
- Check the Show features for web developers box
- Click the Develop menu in the menu at the top
- Click Empty Caches
