Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Adjust Settings
There are five areas available to color code the calendar:
- Billing Codes
- User
- Location
- Room
- Status
Go to System Settings by clicking on Administration, Setting Management, then System Settings. Locate setting -287 and indicate one the above options in the field next to Your Value.
Step 2: Color Coding Areas
BILLING CODES
To access, go to: Financial > Billing Codes
Each billing code has a column labeled as Color. Select the color from the dropdown you wish to appear on the calendar for each code. Some practices find it very useful to color assessments one color, therapy another, etc.
USER
To access, go to: Administration > User Management > User Personnel Folder
From the user personnel folder, under the Admin. Info section, there is a drop-down box labeled as Sched. Color. Select your preferred color for each user's calendar appointments.
LOCATION
To access, go to: Administration > Organization Management
Select the Locations tab where there is a drop-down for Sched. Color. When you make an appointment for this location, this will be the color that shows up on the calendar.
ROOM
To access, go to: Administration > Organization Management
Select the Locations tab. If rooms have been added to a listed location, you can assign a color to a room from the Back Color dropdown. If an appointment is scheduled by a room, that color will then show up on the calendar.
STATUS
To access, go to: Administration > Pick List Management
From the search bar, type in "Status" and select the Status category from the list. For items listed as Appointment from the dropdown under the Status Category column, click in the Status Color field to select a color for that appointment status.
*Please note that only the items listed as Appointment can have an assigned color. You cannot color code by a combination of these choices, as the setting is system wide.
