MOVING ITEMS
When you are moving items in an open window, always double-click the item to move it from left to right or right to left. You can make all changes and SAVE at the end.
SAVE
You will typically find Save on the upper left corner of the screen. It’s very important to always click Save if you have made any changes before leaving a page. There are some windows that have the Save in the top section and the bottom section. Be sure to save changes in the top section with the Save button at the top of the window and save changes in the bottom section with the Save button at the top left of the bottom section.

COLUMN CHOOSER
In PIMSY, the default columns do not necessarily show all columns in that section. The Column Chooser lets you view and insert columns not shown in a default window.
To view additional columns, right click over the column header to bring up a box where you can select the Column Chooser. Click and drag a column to the header bar.
EXPORT FROM PIMSY TO MS EXCEL
Anywhere there is an Export button in PIMSY, the process is the same.
There are two ways to Export data from PIMSY to an Excel spreadsheet. You can export to a new spreadsheet or into an existing Excel file.
- In the Export box, select Excel and Include Column Headers. PIMSY will pop up a box that says it may take a minute or more to export, depending on the amount of data you are sending to the Excel file. Click Yes.
- The Browse button allows you to export data to an existing Excel file. This will create your own Excel templates.
Browse your computer to select the Excel file to receive the data. Define the sheet it will export to, such as Sheet1 or My Data and Save the file.
In the Export Options box, be sure to put the name of your new sheet in the Sheet Once you click Export and Yes, the existing data in Sheet 1 is intact and the new data is added to Sheet 2 (New Sheet).
You can perform other tasks in PIMSY while a list is exporting. Once the export process begins, you can close the export dialog box and the system will continue to export while you work.
BUTTON RIBBONS
There are buttons in many places in PIMSY that have the same functionality wherever they are found. A prime example is the set of buttons on top of the client list under the Client Management area.
The black buttons on top allow you to move backward and forward through records, either one by one or first and last page of the list.
The Export button is explained above.
The Filter button instructions are HERE.
The green buttons will page up and down a set of records, such as the list of clients in the Client Management area.
The CPP: is for adding more records to the display. For example, the default will show 40 clients, however, the number can be changed to something like 400 if you have more than 40 clients. You must click the green Refresh button to implement the number change.
SPELLCHECK
There are several areas in PIMSY where you can access the spellcheck feature, such as in Note boxes. Click on the ABC button or right-click inside the notes box to use spellcheck. You can also change the font size in these boxes.
LINKS MENU
PIMSY provides several useful links in this area plus you can add your own to the Dropdown box.
To do this, go to the Pick List Management area
and filter for “links.” Add your custom links here. See Pick List Management article.
Be sure to Save and Refresh Pick Lists.
WINDOWS MENU
The Windows menu is a quick way to navigate in PIMSY and change the way you view open windows.
All currently open windows are listed at the bottom of the Windows menu. To navigate from one open window to another, select one from the list to bring it to the front of your view.
VIEWS
Cascade creates a series of open windows that are easily navigated from one to another.
Tile Vertical places windows in sets so you can view several windows at one time.
Tile Horizontal arranges the open windows in a horizontal pattern so you can view all at one time.
