How do I release a late note?

When a provider receives a message that says they cannot release a note because it is late, the message can be tracked by using the Requests feature to obtain assistance. Requests are found under the Utilities menu.

Be sure to check Allow Unconditional Release, and Save. Mark the request complete and it will send an alert informing the provider the note can now be released.

However, if a note pertains to a client with insurance, the visit can't be billed without a primary diagnosis code. Be sure the code is in the client’s chart before release because checking Allow Unconditional Release will override the system setting that requires the diagnosis code before you can release the note.
